Am looking to get some experience of cleaning leather, looked into training and as usual its bloody miles away, Harrogate, just once why cant it be local.
are they the only ones that do training in leather restoration and cleaning, where else is there that is not over 300 miles away, i am based in Essex.

James
Generally people are prepared to travel for training - we had 2 delegates from Australia over last year who came just for the 4 day course.

We occasionally do schools elsewhere but at the moment have none planned as the Harrogate courses are so busy. I think you will find it well worth the journey. Booking at the moment for March/April/May and June courses but places for March are now limited.

Fair enough, it just seems everything you do whether its training or attending something its a several hundred mile round trip everytime, maybe its just me and that London is only 30 miles away i am suprised no associations etc are based there.
Regarding the course the June one may be best for me what are the dates, what is covered and how much is it.

I travelled about 250 miles to Harrogate on two occasions and reckon it was worthwhile, last time I thought I'd be the longest travelled, but there was someone from the South who'd travelled further, think it was Steve Barnett.

Thanks Robert
James
June dates are 23rd - 26th and the basic details of the course can be found here
http://www.lttleathercare.co.uk/coursesfreeleather.asp
together with the costs for each day.
As we are booking up so fast this year I would book the course as soon as you know that you can make it.
Just give me a ring if you need any further information.
Cheers

Steve
The Leather Wise courses are about the production of leather and its uses within the industry. Whilst they do go into leather identification etc. they do not cross over into the care and repair of leather, they leave that to us.
Their courses are very comprehensive and take you through the tanning process, manufacture and finishing of leather but that is where their expertise stops.
LTT Day 1 will cover most of what they cover on their Simply Leather one day course plus a lot more practical stuff useful to cleaners and technicians (LTT is also a quarter of the price)

James was asking about leather courses near Essex which your not Leatherwise are based in Northampton the 1 day simply leather course would be better than nothing teaching him the basics
1 Day Simply Leather Course (1 Day Simply Upholstery Leather Course)
This course is designed for anyone needing to understand the basics about leather in a short amount of time – What do we make it from? How? What does all the jargon mean? How can I identify different types? What can go wrong?
How is it cared for
? This course will start ‘from scratch’ and is suitable for someone new to leather through to someone needing a refresher or who just wants to know more.

On the 24th March I will be at the Tile & Grout course in Leicester.
Is the 24th a National Training Day for carpet cleaners.?
