Flow master HELP PLEASE
« on: January 31, 2009, 07:45:31 pm »
Hi  I had my van mount fitted yesterday and also bought a trolley both have different flow controllers and i forgot to ask for any instructions
in the van i have the normal flowmaster with the dial it is the split charge relay version im presuming that when it is turned off and my engine is running ITS CHARGING

now my problem is on the trolley which has the digital flowmaster controller on it how do i set it up and what do the different flashing letters  (P5 and D8E)and what is the calibration menu

sometimes when i open the pole valve is can take up to 5 seconds for the pump to start running

i was wondering if anyone has any links to any manuals or anything

Thanks in advance

Now after reading a post that someone else put on regarding a similar issue not long after my original post

i have tried recalibrating the pump and the pump will only pump straight away when i  open my flow valve  if the calibration setting is set at 90 is this    ok to run like this (most people say between 70-80)
any lesser setting below 90 the pump hangs for 3-4 seconds before coming to life

Any ideas at all?

The dial one will run straight away because it uses the pressure switch on the pump.

If the digital flowmaster is anything like the varistream it can take a few seconds for the pump to kick in again. This is normal because it "looks" every 6 seconds or so to see if you have opened the flow again.

so will it be ok to run with the calibration setting as high as 90?

All the calibration setting does is set the dead end setting.  I.E. the pressure at which the controller will shut the pump down.

It is probably as high as that but it could cause joints etc to leak and with any leaks at all the pump will cycle  (Switch on and off)

Just tinker with it until you have a good flow rate and the pump shuts down when the pole trigger is closed. That few second delay when opening the valve again is normal.
