I don`t do small houses or awkard houses with it so i can stand back further with an extra section.

If it`s a stretch with 3 sections i`ll always use 4 but stand a bit further back,i only use it on commercial or big domestic with long stretches of glass or acute angles.

alot of the jobs have difficult access gardened areas its just annoying say 5 sections is too short and 6 are too long

I often thought a half height base section would be handy for some awkward windows,.. but on the whole I really like modular poles, and I'm happy to put up with loosing that "Perfect height" a telescopic pole can give.

I had the same problem.
How I overcome it was to use a spare 3/4 length broken section and taper the pole with a few rolls of electricians tape, (thin at top, wide at bottom). Then the 3/4 length section (broken pole taped up wedged conical shape) will fit almost every section as that 'extra short length' when you need it most on windows where the ground is on an incline and you're restricted from stepping off a pavement onto a busy road, etc.

Suggestion for Alex of gardiner poles if he wants it would be to manufacture a 3/4 length pole thin enough at top to fit the end of a No 2 section but wide enough further down to slide into a No. 6 section leaving half a length protruding from the end section. So basically the conically wedged shaped taper starts 4 inches from the top and finishes approx 2ft from the base of the pole.
The above is what I've DIY'd for myself but could possibly be manufactured for other short people like myself who find this SL-2 challenging on some window heights in restricted spaces.

Surely this would put too much strain on the blank it was fitting into as it would only be making contact at the very bottom of the put over section. Would probably split the section it fit into.

It sounds like quite a high set up cost for something that relatively few people might buy.

That does sound interesting WW. Any chance of a photo emailed to me?

We have looked at having a half length base section made as several have enquired in the past about them. The problem is that it would end up being a lot more expensive than the current extension section. So really the cheapest way would be to simply saw off a current extension section to the desired length. Your option of course is different again.

Ronnie, for domestic, get yourself a Ron Thompson Zensorflex fishing pole; the sections are about three-foot each and it's perfect for domestic if you like lightweight modular poles.
