My sl2 pole snapped yesterday at the join of scetion 2 and 3.
The 2 ends are now the same diameter and won't slide into each other.
Is it possible to repair these sections?

Is it the base of two or the tip of 3 thats snapped, can you remove the broken part without damage ?

just had another look and section 2 is ok. Section 3 has snapped 14 inches down from the end of the joint that slips into section 2.
It is a clean snap.

So you can either order a new No 3 and/or this guy should be able to repair the broken section stronger than new http://www.polerepairs.co.uk/

I was hoping i could cut it down or somethng as i need it desparately for the job i should have finished the other day. But it doesn't seem possible.

Wont happen, 
 quickest will be to order a replacement section off Alex for next day delivery. I would also get the broken section repaired,using either as a spare.
Do you have any other modulars that could maybe be used ?

Where you using it as a lever or did it break in use ?

Hiya jeff, it broke in use. The pole was in a vertical position cleaning 4th floor above some gutters. I cleaned the window and moved back to remove a section of pole.
The next thing was the 1st 2 sections of the pole came away and fell on me.
I did think at 1st that i had caught the gutter with the brush and had pulled the section out.
Until you posted i thought they had broke where the sections had joined. But after looking again to answer your earlier question i saw a pretty clean break 14 inches down from the join on the 3rd section.
I will take a photo when my camera charges up.

Just wondering if you where using a heavy or light brush and an extended G neck, which could have increased the leverage ?

Sometimes you get a weakness near the tip/base but you usually notice some cracking sounds beforehand.
I guess you were just unlucky

Hello jeff, appreciate your interest in this.
I was using a superlite brush. The stock of the brush broke as it hit the ground. The bit that screws onto the brush stock itself.

There is a trick that some members do of removing the broken small part and sliding it carefully inside the longer one until it comes out the top. You may need to cut the broken parts/edges  flush and do some sanding. Then you glue the two pieces internally and externally, you end up with a smaller polesection  but it has the two diameters for connecting the poles again.
Maybe someone else can come in and explain ?

That makes sense. I've just tried sliding it through but is too big at the moment.
I will cut it down tomorrow and glue it up but i think that will work. Got no hacksaw now but will get 1 and let you know how it works. I think it's a good un though jeff.

It will be a bit big because of the overall taper but should give you enough of a taper to try it. try to sand down the sharp bits that could cut into the remainder of the pole. Good luck, maybe finally, some duck tape the outside of the joint if there is enough room.
The poles done thus still have their internal vertical integrity.

Plenty of two pack epoxy glue will fill the gaps - get a time bond type.

I tried putting the broken section in back to front just to see if it will go. It will with a tiny bit of sanding, it seems.
Will clean up the edges as well.
I think this is a goer.

just read last post. I've got some 2 pack epoxy glue. Just need to get my hacksaw and a bit of sandpapaer.

Wrap some masking tape a couple of times round where you want to cut first and do most of the cutting on the backstroke.
Done properly you could end up with a stonger joint because of the overlap,

neither have I  the F16 continues to function ok.
