I use one for the Wagtail Combi, you have to as you have to put water in it, you can't just dip it in the bucket like an ordinary applicator.
I only got wet legs when I was all trad, the B.O.B used to catch on rungs and when climbing over gates.
That's why I never wore jeans, just polyester trousers, they may get wet but dry really quickly.

as long as you are careful you don't get wet. apart from anything else, from a h&s point of view, climbing ladders with something in your hand isn't very clever. :o

I use the Ettore BOAB and unless I'm very careless my leg stays dry.

mines an ettore too and i dont get much spillage, but i would have thought the other makes woiuld be much the same. thewater level is critical, you only want to put about an inch in the bottom . and i think the position makes a difference, further to the back rather than on your hip but you will still spill it if you catch it on a gate/ fence etc ..............just  what you need this time o year. it keeps your sleeve wet but the water in the boab gets dirty very quickly so you still need to wash out between windows in a bucket.........the sleeve that is not the boab

its a handy bit of kit , keeps everything to hand. theres  nothing worse than  getting to the top of the ladder and  dropping your applicator into the flowerbed

i would recomend for trad

lol done that many a time, so you only put a small amount in the belt but still need to clean the applicator after each window does sound like more work but probabally easier
some right jokers on here these days should of stayed in me closet

I have clipped one onto a work vest before now, you know the ones with loads of pockets and D links, it worked well that way too, the link was just under the left breast pocket.
Using one like this takes the weight off the belt, and your trousers stay up better.

if you have still got an army and navy store or millets in your town get some waterproof over trousers for about £12. they keep the wind, rain and any spill from your bucket on a belt off. (mines an ettore, used every day and a life saver when up a ladder).
traditional cleaner, shop windows and some pubs.
