What temp did Veritech set your frost protection at? 0 or -1?

2 degrees C in the pipe from the heater to the hose reel.

So your probe is inside the pipe?

The probe is inserted inside a brass tube which is connected inline.

When the temp drops to below 2 degrees C the system activates for a few minutes to circulate the water in the system (the hoses are returned to tank) As soon as 2 degrees C is reached the system shuts off and so on.
