and i was thinking about going on the FC course in the next mth or so think i might hang off..

 i'm doing the ltt 4 day resto course next month, news like that is  not putting me off. still plenty of leather about, don't let other companies bad management stop your own progress.

If people are not buying new furniture they will have their current ones cleaned so there will be more work for cleaners. 

If you simply want to find out about cleaning leather then Day 1 at LTT only costs £45.00 + vat and will give you a good insight into whether it is for you or not, then you can do other courses at a later date when you get more experience, that way the investment is not high and you will not have lost much and will take only one job to recoup your expenses .......just a thought.

Think my point is Judy is i dont get much call for leather as it is even when i do its the cheap ones that are trashed and they want a cheap clean as they bought it on credit from L.O.L

so as more people bought leather so they didnt have to get it cleaned by a Upholstery cleaner, they clean it with baby wipes etc etc etc.....

I understand you saying there is a market for it but at the moment i advertise that i clean it but get no call for it..

With all the clean kits you get with the new leather when you buy it and the cheap leather cleaners you get at sunday market stalls, i think the Leather manufacturers havent help our industry by saying it can be cleaned by the owner of the suite....

Fabric suite makers ADVISE that you get it cleaned by say CHEM DRY sevice master
leather is seen as a cleaner suite than a fabric suite so the customer saves money in the long term as they wont get it cleaned for £120+ as they have to with a fabric suite.

land of leather was on the news on itv this evening, it was reported that the store in northfleet in kent has gone into administration... they were saying the problem was that no one seems to be buying property these days & therefore stocking there homes with large corner suites... charlie

That one always gets me. Perhaps it's to make the carpets feelings feel better with new furniture about to appear on the property.

Buying new suites leather or not (SCS had a profits warning last year also) are classed as major luxury buys where as we CC are classed as minor luxury buys so people for the moment will have cleaning to refresh items and not replace an expensive piece, this year could be our greatest providing we concentrate on the job in hand.
