cleaning cast iron (HOB)
« on: February 02, 2009, 12:00:28 pm »
Just popped over from the Dark Side (window cleaners section)

Having a day off today due to the snow and the wife has got me cleaning the oven :-[

Anyone who does a bit of oven cleaning willing to give me any ideas on how best to clean the Cast Iron pan stands on the hob. They have a bit of carbon build up on them and cant get it of with anything household. Any tips are very welcome.

Thanks
Wayne

buy some caustic soda at b and q mix with hot water in a tub and then place cast iron parts in tub to soak for an hour then remove and wash under tap.
