Winter project
« on: December 15, 2008, 03:39:21 pm »
Bought a Bane Cleane hose reel and tanks set up last week, hope to mount it in my Toyota Hiace van.

The vans engine coolant system connects thru fresh water tank and heats water on way to job,

Last week water got up to 150 degrees after 1/2 an hour.

Reels are electric, and also has an immersion heater.

Hope to make life a little easier for my tech age 63

Andrew, old Banetanks had a thermostat fitted to stop the water in the tank getting to hot for the pump stator, but as you are not using a bane machine this can be bypassed to get the water even hotter ( although the thermostat might already been removed) it as fitted on the side where the coolant pipes entered the tank. it has a big adjustable nob fitted on it, you can't miss it, if its there.

also if you fit too powerful machine onto the waste tank it will pull soiled water into the vacuum, i removed my Bane machine and fitted a petrol T/M, if the waste tank got more than half full the T/M would suck up soiled water because the tank is very shallow.  a normal T/M waste tank is tall and thin this is short & long, this is what causes the problem

This numpty Mike, will be taking it off and putting pipe straight on.

If it drags water from waste, surely it will then fill machine waste tank and then cut out, same as normal use.

thanks

Yep that's the numpty, but if you are using it with a portable then leave it on because it will protect your pump otherwise the water will get very hot on a long journey.

yes on the second point also, if you are using a portable the shallow tank won't be a problem it will just suck into the portable waste tank and shut off
