What do i need???
« on: December 16, 2008, 06:30:17 pm »
can anybody tell me what i need and where to get it from to run a normal hozelock hoze into my resin vessel, it is just a small  vessel and currently has a thin tube running into it from my RO, also roughly how many litres would this resin produce at 067 water...  i am going away in jan and the lad i work with will have to produce water at my house whilst im not here, i would rather him produce water at tap rate so so he dosnt have to leave my hose on for several hours whilst im away...

cheers

To workout the resin usage, divide you tap water tds by 250000, so 67/250000 = 3731.34 litres of pure water per 25 kilo of resin.

I'm not sure that works out... My tap tds is also 067ppm, I run 1 DI Vessel (25l), using Tulison Resin and it produces between 15,000 and 20,000 litres before rising to 001ppm.

Sorry ??? it should be divided by 500000

67/500000 = 7462.68 litres of pure water per 25 kilo of resin.

What size canister do you have?

One of these, 700ml 10":

or one of these 250ml:

neither of these are really suitable for processing raw water in any quantity as they will not last very long at all.

The 700ml would last for about 210 litres and the 250ml would last for about 75 litres.

To get a decent changeover life you would need a proper pressure vessel such as below:

This one is a 7 Litre vessel which if filled about 5/6ths full (recommended) would give you about 1800 litres from each fill.

i fitted a piece of micro bore into the half inch hose then pushed the ro tubing thru the length of micro, jubilee clips on the half inch to grip the micro  and also on micro to grip the ro tube. This has been problem free for nearly 2 years
