Cleaning doors
« on: December 16, 2008, 01:43:32 pm »
Hi

Just wondering which is the best way to clean doors ie wooden and upvc doors using wfp.? Is it just the same as the windows or will pure water cause a problem to wooden doors etc?

i always clean doors, wood or upvc, never had any problems.
as to how to do them, just wash them down, and try not to get too much water near the letterbox, as some of them leak, alot.

Thanks Steve

It was just i read that pure water will take out the stain in wooden doors and i didnt know if this was true or not.

Maybe what i could do with is going out with someone for the day to get my eye back in so to speak? It has been 20 years since i last cleaned windows :-[ and i could do with a few pointers :).

If there is anyoe out there willing to let me tag along for a day i would be greatful :)

I always clean them wfp, if the letterbox opens out there are usually no problems, if it opens in then I tape it up first, always ask before the 1st time I do it "does your door leak in?" Occasionally on upvc doors the drains at the bottom of the doors get filled with dirt and the water works its way into the house, just needs a quick poke with a piece of wire and its fine ;D
