Hi there are a couple of Mobile Home parks near me and was wondering if it was worth canvassing or not? Has anyone got any experience of this. Oh Window Cleaning only!

i got asked to do 1 when i was just starting out, over the phone i was asked how much

it had 14 windows, so i said 8 quid ( this was 6 years ago )

she was happy with the price

then the day before i was due she phoned and said some1 was going to do them for a fiver, he lived on the park and was retired

so i didnt do them

Big plus is not really any ladder work, I think it may be worth a punt, nothing ventured nothing gained.

I usually charge £1 per window unless Georgian or Leaded so may think about reducing a little.

They should be very quick to do.

you will need steps though if your trad, unless your 8 ft tall, as you have a 3ft gap under them

ive often looked at the park homes when ive stayed in them for weekends, they allways have dirty windows

The mobile home parks near me have appointed tradsmen inc windowcleaners that are approved by the site owers. I tried to do a friends when he moved into one but wasnt allow on site. The appointed windowcleaner was getting £14 per home (2006). Gas etc has to be ordered via the site management at an inflated rate even patios have to be done by an appointed tradsman

I would have thought that you'd want to avoid ladders if at all possible. You'll spend FAR too much time. Also, many have quite ornate gardens with rose bushes all round. You'll rip yourself to pieces on those things.

There are three possibilities to using a pole. The best pole would probably be a 1.25m x 2.

(i) Go for something like a backflip or visa versa or a flipper wagtail.

(ii) You might even prefer a mop on one pole and a squeegee on another or possibly

(iii) a single pole and keep on changing over from mop to squeegee.

Then you'll really fly round.

(If you haven't used one you might think that it's tricky. It isn't. You'll very quickly get used to it and do great work really fast.
