Polythene for rugs
«

Morning all
Bit of a weird request but does anyone know where I can buy some polythene to put rugs in when I have cleaned them. I was thinking something that comes on a roll as a continuous tunnel. It is then cut and taped as needed. I thought it would look more professional and keep it clean when delivering back in the van.
Thanks in advance

Excellent idea Tim.
Make sure that the customer does not store them in the polythene. Any residual moisture, or even natural volumes of water (wool is permanently "damp") could lead to mildew type problems.
Safe and happy cleaning

I get mine from a company that supplies underlay, grippers and all the other items associated with fitting carpets and hard floors.
I'm sure there must be a company near you that offers a similar service and by default may also sell polythene tubing.
It's great stuff!!

Use
www.thepackagingstore.co.uk
. They have various sizes.
Wrapping a tiny rug in a large tube looks terribly unprofessional

i use bin liners and masking tape, one on either end, not quite as professional but stops the ends getting dirty in transit, which shows some profesionalism i suppose.

I get the polythene off the large carpet rolls discarded by a local retailer, although they slit it open so it's not a tube. On posh rugs (priced accordingly) I use craft paper. Then I unravel it in custies home and take it back for recycling

I was thinking about using some ribbed plastic tube ( think they use em to put cables under ground) with a fixed cap at one end and the other with some sort adjustable clip at the other end.
