waste of time.
they need to know how to price
they need to be able to spot awkward windows etc
you just need to train them. i have an architect that helps me a few times a week and she grasped it straight away. pricing spot on with any potential problems highlighted straight away
If they really struggle, it wouldnt take much to build a quote calculator type thing into a spreadsheet and stick it on a cheap pda for them to use when pricing, tell them if they are unsure to ask if you can go back, or stick a few quid on....if they get it really wrong, refuse to pay for it or tell them to try adjust price, but it isnt rocket science as steve cm says, just be careful who you get alot of canvassers are just con men and wont be bothered about you or your business, on paying them - they are self emplyed thats not a prob they do not have to go through your books unless you make them do 2 hours a day as and when you say, i would ask them to bring in x amount of work for x amount of commision.....i want to do the same thing but i have not found anyone suitable thats the hard bit
