Backpack handles
« on: November 14, 2008, 02:02:05 pm »
Just wondered if any backpack users had any tips for putting handles on shurflo backpacks. I was just going to drill holes and attach bolts, washers and nuts and use part of the waist strap as a handle.

just use the waist strap,

no need for nuts and bolts,

fit to top eyes to form a loop,

cut of excess, i then put a small piece of pipe lagging , and wrap a few turns of duck tape round,

prevents, handle cutting in to your hand , when carrying full b-pack

Cheers, just done it. Forgot that there are holes where the shoulder straps are so just threaded some of the waist strap through.

Yes mine looks the same. As soon as i started to do it this afternoon i realised about the shoulder strap holders. The pipe lagging is a good idea. Not sure why i wanted to add handles, easier to pick up i suppose but not sure if i will use the backpack from the floor as i have read that the button on the bottom can get damged easily. What do you do with yours jouk. Thanks again lads you have been most helpful.

if you look at the bottom pic, you will see an outside switch, made by jeff brown, so no worries about getting it damaged

So you can turn it on from that switch, nice one. Was it a tricky job.

actualy i was surprised how easy it was to do, following jeff browns instructions, it took about half hour all in, all the kit is bought from maplins store,
