Went to quote a job today and the lady said, "our old window cleaner moved to cambridge and he used that pole machine. I did have another that used the 'other'  method but its no good."
I thought i'd misheard and asked her if she meant cleaning.with a squeegee and cloth. Yes, she said. She claimed that method wasn't much good. ;D
I had to laugh and tell her that she must have had a bad cleaner cos it is good, trouble is it won't reach all her windows.

I have had many customers say how good a job it does but never heard they prefer wfp over trad.
Trouble is it threw me because in my eagerness to get this job, i gave a price of £18 instead of what should have been £25. I got all shy when i realised my mistake but she was chatting away happily for ages and i got caught up in the moment and let it go.  :o

It's a very exclusive part of town overlooking the broads. I've tried breaking into the area with leaflets several tiimes with no succcess.
Most houses are in the £25+ bracket.
She said they had lived there for 30 years and cos she was over the moon at finding a wc with a 'pole', i'm hoping it will lead onto other things.

Never heard so much praise for wfp before. I ended up almost blushing.  ;D

There are some customers who definitely prefer it. I have had a couple of referrals because I use WFP and I think some people like it because its "new" and they associate new with better.

Don't worry it won't last. It won't be long before you get someone saying "aren't you going to dry that water off the windows?"

They old arguement in the long running trad v wfp debate was that the customers don't like it but its not true, they do like it. (or at least don't care either way which is good enough).

But are you  ;D or do you really think that ::)  ;D

If I am honest I think most will prefer trad because it takes longer to clean a window and customers associate this with the work. There is no water left on the windows with trad, so customers get to see out of it straight away...

But there is a lot out there that are starting to like WFP better, I think the point that windows stay cleaner longer and WC do not have to stand on tiled roofs is very appealing..

Untill WFP can do all windows there is going to be a need for Trad  ;)

when i started with wfp i asked my customers to give me a few cleans to see if they was happy with it , i told them all that if they were not happy i would go back trad , im still wfp had a load of reccomendations from my long standing customers . ive had loads of comments on how much better and how much longer there windows stay clean for . if my customers are happy then im happy .

I've had many like that, do a good job, train the customer well, and they will love it in the end.

Thats what i figured, i said we use a mixture which is true but ill do it when she is out and then let her see how good the result is and explain the last wfp user was obviously cack, hence the reason she rang me :)
