Difficulty pricing vac jobs.
« on: October 31, 2008, 06:13:47 pm »
Pricing a window clean is normally straight forward - count the windows and estimate a time. Guttering however seems harder because you are never sure what problems you will get. Did one today and it had a little grass tuft waving away out of the top of the downpipe, looked pretty innocent. I reckon it took a good twenty minutes to disloge the plug of roots and mud before i could suck it out. Really frustrating work. The hardest work is washing the gutters down with wfp.

I find it easy now but it took a while.

I usually get it wrong in my favour nowadays . This week we have done 20 hrs work (2 men) for 5.5K nice.... however it had the potential to take 40 hours for 2 men still nice but not so nice LOL  ;D

kevin how are you getting the work??

In the beginning just through advertising but now I have several major clients who keep us very busy. I have two councils - three major construction companies - countless management companies and lots of "one ofs" to fill the ever decreasing gaps.

I have been cleaning gutters for a couple of years now, but since getting the Omnivac business has boomed!!!

Its totally recession proof  ;)
