Propane water heaters?
«

I read about propane water heaters all of the time on the yank carpet cleaners forums.
They can be used on electric or fuel powered truckmounts to heat the water supply.
Are they available in the UK?
If not, why not?
cheers

Chris i looked for a long time to find an effective water heater the only thing i found was a 'hotbox' which is basically a diesal burner (as found in steam pressure cleaner)
I fitted this onto my truckmount to heat the water, it worked brilliantly and could produce steam at the wand.
as for propane I don't think there is any type available in the UK.

Des, are you saying that Woodbridge will be selling water heaters for £420ish? I'd like a propane heater, they burn a lot cleaner, so the inside of my van would'nt get black with soot.

I'd have thought it would be a pain having to carry and refill a propane tank. I know that there are lots of LPG garages now (I've run our cars on LPG for years) but the costs and insurance implications of having a proper tank fitted might be interesting.
Perhaps I'll have a look at the thermo pure set up - the roof of my van does get pretty filthy.
Cheers

I thought the diesel heaters have a chimney stack through the roof of the van. If so when does the inside get dirty?
