40ft pole?
« on: September 24, 2008, 09:14:52 am »
I have just put a price in for a large block of flats, if I get the job I will require a pole of about 40ft, can anyone recommend a decent pole of this length that isn't going to break the bank?  :)

harris extention "dont tell me this has not crossed your mind" you could always look on buy & sell section and get one second hand to get you by, or ebay.

Nice to see you back by the way  ;)

I guessed that someone would say Harris pole extension!! I have had my harris pole up to about 30ft, using a number1 extension, and a 7ft number4 (i think) which worked ok although it wasn't ideal, I think 40ft would be pushing it a bit though!! Saying that I have been considering using the thickest section on 5 or 6  harris poles to make a modular pole that would probably work well at that kind of height! I will let you know how that one works, and there may even be another video!!!  ;D  It's good to be back Ian! thankyou.  :)

groundhog

i got my poles to  42 ft

a cut and paste from the DIY forum

a Reload ( well it was a reload with a few spare bits )

i combined the reload with TWO Zensorflex's ( mainly the base sections )

measured it at 42 ft

im well chuffed

price for new poles, 140 quid ( thats TWO reloads and TWO zensorflex ) though to be honest i looked at it and you could do it with THREE Zensorflex and ONE reload ( thus 95 quid ) infact im going to try and do it tomorrow

i never did get around to trying it with the 3 ZF and 1 reload

but for 140 quid, a 42 ft pole, you cannot complain

yes

it was called the Ron thompsom reload, its now called the ron thompsom gangsta ( same pole, new name )

i tried it at 42 ft, it was controllable and lightweight, i use it once a fortnight at 36 ft and its fine
