First thing to chech is the vacuum hose, for damage or poor sealing, if you turn on and simply put the wand on a smoothish surface, it should be have a very strong resistance, if not there's a leak/poor seal somewhere
Chances are, it's very easily resolved, by tightening the cuffs, correctly aligning lids etc.

I had the CFR Perfect Heat with a Wonderwand and used it at 500psi no problem.
Not sure what the normal CFR wand is like (photo would help if pssible) but if the vac motors are working correctly you could use a normal wand at 200 and it should be ok.
Just make sure the spray pattern is full width.
Just play around with the pressure to get a good result - increase or decrease.

Joe, the normal wand is the roller wand, i had 1 for three years and was an excellant wand.
Stevie, what type of carpet did you use it on, was it a wool berber, or similar carpet with uneven pile.
The berber is always a difficult 1 to dry.
I used my roller wand on my recoil recently, was amazed at how quickly my wool twist dried.
Unfortunately i have sold my wand with my CFR, feels like i have lost my right arm

You should find 200 will be ok for most work, even less for upholstery, but it's great to have the 500 when faced with a manky carpet.
I assume you know the "ordinary " wand is used differently, ie, water goes down in the forward stroke, takes a bit of getting used to

With a Wonderwand, that is a pull wand, that type of carpet in my experiance would be left quite dry.
The other CFR wand thatI know of is the "push" type wand ie you spay and suck on the push stroke.
I tried it when I was buying my CFR Perfect Heat but preferred the pull type (Wonderwand).
Both should do the same job and 500 psi is fine with these types of wand. Not so with "standard" wands - need less psi.

Thanks Joe.It is the push kind which I cant get used to.Ive tried the cfr wand and upholstery tool with my 2times 3 stage steampro and it works a lot better, the upholstery tool is brilliant.I think I need a wonderwand, anyone got one for sale.Steve.Ps. Do both strokes, spray and dry have to be on the push ,and if I was cleaning with the gauge at 600psi would the 2times2 stage cope.I may have had it set that high.

The problem I could see with the "push" wand was when you get to the end of the room and "hit" the skirting board.
With the water jets being at the front you would end up with water at the edge of the carpet and no suction.
I would have thought if you were moving the wand at a "reasonable" speed 600psi would not overly over wet the carpet IF the sucton was good..

The two CFR's I've owned both had the original " roller wand " and you could put down a very high volume of water, with soaking never happening.
If the wands work on another machine that suggests to me that there's a poor seal on the machine.

The wand you have is the glide wand, which your able to use on all carpet types.
The most important thing is to ensure it creates a good seal with the carpet. Also apply the water on the forward stroke not on the return. It will take a bit of getting used too.
