Stickers , anyone else use them ?
« on: September 02, 2008, 02:42:17 pm »
Just ordered a batch of new business cards, and also just designed a sticker buis card size, saying your carpets have been professionally cleaned,to keep them looking their best call me in 12 months time, logo phone no etc.
Anyone else do this, will stick them on fridge when done so customer is aware of me,also if they are a pig to remove will def remember me  :D
Got the idea from Merry maids did a clean last week and they had stuck stickers to all the toilet rolls,so you remember how cr*p they are when you take a dump i assume

I'd think you were crap if you stuck a sticker to my fridge that I couldn't peel off!

Asking permission first, and putting them on the customer's vacuum cleaner might be a little less risky!

Better still get your magnets/stickies to say YOU will phone THEM in agreed period of time.

If your customers can't remember you within a 12 month period without you plastering your stickers all over their possessions, then they either suffer from amnesia or you personally or your services did not leave a lasting impression

As I have mentioned previously, whilst on a training course some years ago there was a bloke there who did a business studies course before he started up. This was to obtain funding from The enterprise board or whatever it was at the time.
Anyway as part of his course he had to carry out market research. At a loss on what to do, the advisor advised him (thats what they do :)) to stand outside a supermarket and ask people if they had ever had their carpets cleaned.
What was interesting was out of those that had cleaning carried out in the previous 12 months, I think it was 80-85% couldn't remember who had done it.
Proof if ever why you need to keep in regular contact with your customer base.
Ps stickers under the sofa cushions, with waterproof ink. Take a leaf out of Servicemasters book.

I understand what you are saying John but I wonder how many that said they had their carpets cleaned really had. The problem with people who are stopped in the street is they are scared to death to say yes or no in case it is the wrong answer and they get hoodwinked into agreeing a survey or a service they do not want.
If someone came up to me in the street and asked me if I had my carpets cleaned in the last 12 months I would say yes just to get rid of them. A no answer at this point opens the door for a sale. If I was then asked who did it, I then have 2 options, tell them it is none of their business or I cannot remember.

Statistics do not mean much. According to statistics 9 out of 10 people enjoy gang rape, but it does not make it right.

My customers do not forget me, but that is a bad thing  :(
