metal hose reel problem
« on: August 27, 2008, 08:10:55 pm »
Anyone had a problem with the plastic manifold/spindle on their metal hose reel?
The origional cracked under build up of water pressure, put new one on july 30th and it cracked/split today, not impressed at all, particularly as they are over £15 with postage. :'( think i will go back to cheapy b&q ones.

i broke mine on the second day, luckily they sent me one free of charge....

metals reels, last ten years.... then they go and put some plastic on it which costs the price of a plastic reel...

not daft are they.

Some donkey drove into one of my reels and snapped the end off,

How old was the spindle you had for it to crack under pressure ?
if you have cracked one in less than a month something tells me something is not right with what you are doing maybe.

the spindle was new 4 weeks ago, the reel is fixed in the van so is never taken in or out. i just unwind it and wind back up again. the problem happened after turning the tap off at the brush end between windows over a period of time. went back to van after finish and  it was pouring out from the reel. fortunately ive got a cheap b&q one to tied me over till i get it sorted.this is why i dont like buying stuff off the internet, you cant just take it back and change it.Think i will get next one from local machinemart shop. 8)
