hello i have a client that has silk  curtains lined with a woolen blancket type mateial and a heavy backing (black out material) there 3 meters in hight by 12 meters wide x 10 number they have water marks from the window cleaner and a few food grease stains and a egg based drink stain
what method would you recomend...the work is in north central london i am open to any ideas
thaks for any help you may give or may consider sub contracting the work

Judging by your name, I assume you specialise in hard floors.
The combination of materials you describe added to the staining that the customer has on them would make me politely decline any involvement in the cleaning process.  Maybe advise to take them to a specialist dry cleaners but doubt as to whether they would not put a dozen riders on a100% success

thank you for you comments we can not remove curtains from the property so looking to refresh and remove what stains we can

Grease and water stains are hard to remove at the best of times. On Silk curtains they can sometimes be impossible. I would not attempt this yourself if you have no experience in this area. Try and find a local cleaner who has a dry solvent extraction machine. This would be your best option. Try looking on the net or YP's for someone advertising on-site dry cleaning.

Save your money. You'll not have that much opportunity or reason to use it. Only one I know of is the Extracta Spirit, around £1300 + vat. Lots of people got these lanquishing at the back of their shed/garage.

I agree with john I have the dry cleaning kit on one of my ninjas ,havnt used it in years .

   I always hot water extraction clean them on low psi with cfr upholstery tool but wouldnt even attempt to clean those silk curtains.


 Explain to the customer results would be very limited and politely walk away.

thank you for your moments but we have had the client for 29 years and  there bigspenders
so i will have to find some one or buy the equipment

I have cleaned curtains like these before, silk isnt a problem, the water and grease marks are tho.

I am based up in Herts and so not far from North London and can help you if you want.
