Does anyone have any advice on how to make old taps look a little better? The main problems is limescale, which has been there for a long time. It goes without saying they have been neglected. Previously I have tried a high acidic solution and strong toilet descalers, but to no avail. We order through Bunzl as company policy, but is there anything anyone knows of from the high street or any other company I can try?

We chip off the main lime scale with a coin then put some TD10 in a spray bottle, spray the taps then leave for 5min wash off then use a stainless steel scoure to rub off the lime scale, wash off with plenty of water.
WARNING TD10 IS POWERFULL STUFF AND CAN TARNISH THE TAPS IF LEFT ON FOR LONGER THAN 5 MIN AND MUST ONLY BE PUT ON COOL TAPS ( I.E DO NOT  RUN THE HOT WATER)

Would advise that you do not use TD10 in contains hydrochloric acid. TD30 is less agressive and contains Sulphamic Acid

scrape of the main limescale then soak a cloth in vinegar and fasten it round the tap with string leave for 24 hours remove and rinse should come up like new, i know this is no good for a commercial job when the taps have to be used but on your own taps it is fine, with it only being a mild acid it wont do any damage either unlike hydrochloric which can permanately tarnish the metal.

Td10 is fine in the type of work that we do for the Raf but you have to wash off with plent of water, takes 5min tops to deal with the worst of taps

Td30 does the same job but twice as long

If you are diluting TD10 as per the Premiere Products Technical sheet 1:10 - 50ml per 500ml spray bottle then that may be fine. Yes TD10 may take a little longer, but you may be safer using that and doing something else while that is dwelloing. Beware of neat product as it may burn the surface of some taps. During my experience with the RAF  unless thay are more relaxed now they will charge for all damages. If you are doing exit (march out) cleans for RAF personnel you cuold be paying that charge.
