the 4 section only comes with xtel clamps. the universal clamps is a 3 section.

You wouldnt even notice the difference, except that it would be twice the price

When I use my 17' Xtel I cringe everytime I use it. It's SO floppy it's not even funny. I'd say there is a perfect market for 18' Carbon fibre poles.

There`s carbon fiber and there`s carbon fiber,Brodex did a what`s supposed to be the same and it was rubbish it wasn`t even carbon fiber it was was a paper like wrap over the top of plastic which was made to look like carbon.I would want to see a cut cross section of the pole before i bought one.

Why would anyone want an 18' carbon pole when there's the SL-X? A true all day pole for ninety percent residential work.

True, but not everyone might have that sort of money, although I would thoroughly recommend the SL-X.  :)

I believe it would fill a gap. I'd have no use for a 24' pole. I like the idea for the odd one that might ask me, however as an every day pole a 24 footer would be very under used and I'd have a load of extra pole hose at my feet all the time as I use a trigger for flow control.

I currently use an Unger HiFlo 17ft pole which does all my work but I would still like a lghter pole.

SLX expensive compared to some i suppose but you only need the one pole to cover everything to three storeys. If you buy an eighteen footer you'll need another to get you to three storeys then maybe a third for highest work. If you get the chance to try one or borrow one you'll see why they are so good.
