TDS reading a bit strange
« on: August 17, 2008, 10:14:20 am »
For about the last year I've only been able to get the TDS down to 001,which is ok to work with, this reading would stay the same for 6-8weeks before moving up, but recently the TDS reading starts to move up within 10 days of using new resin.

The pre filters, resin and membrane are new and the reading before resin is 007

Although this is nothing to bad, having to change the resin so quickly can't be right, could there be something wrong with the resin cannister, apparently air leaks can mess the TDS about.

Any thoughts on this,cheers

Pull the tube out of the head, this should be round in shape. What often occurs is the tube that is in the head goes oval shape, this then allows moisture from the air to creep into the di vessel making your resin spent.

What you need to do is cut of the oval shape end until you have a perfectly round tube and insert into the head. The tube has to be a tight fit.

This is one of the problems I have come accross when looking at systems.

Not being funny, but as you become more proficient with wfp are you doing more work and using up resin quicker?
It's a game of three halves!
