what glue for cone on a pole?
« on: August 18, 2008, 05:12:46 pm »
The cone is coming off the endof my hybrid xtel, it's even splitting a bit on the end. I think I'll have to saw the end off but what glue would you recommend to stick the cone back on?

I use superglue to glue threads on Tucker brushes in which you put your angle adapter and it sticks ***** to a blanket.

Araldite Rapid (B&Q, Asda) works well. We use the Acrylic adhesive that we sell and this is even tougher.

We have noticed that this has been a recent fault from the factory with these poles about 0.5% have either unglued or not glued in well enough end screws. Seems like you have come across one  :(

When someone mentioned a shorter closed length slx you said okay. Were you joking? would it be the same price?

(i mean losing some of the reach, not adding another section)

I wasn't joking. It's completely possible to customize these poles. If we did it for a customer there would however be a customization fee (about £25).  We've actually done it already for one client - he wanted the closed length of the pole to be 4'6".
