Welcome Pack.....
« on: January 07, 2005, 12:22:34 pm »
Dear all....

Do any of you out there who clean new houses, Builders and Sparkle cleans etc, leave a "Welcome Pack" for buyers moving into their new home...

I.e Bottles of wine, tea etc etc....

If you do, I am looking for ideas of what to leave and roughly how much it costs.

What response do you get from the builders and from new buyers....if any?

Regards to you all

hi there,

you will find that the developers do a welcome pack for the new buyers,  you might look at doing 'hygenie bonded' tape, to seal the sanitary ware from the sweaty builders, if you get my drift

Thanx....i might give it a go....!?!?!?  ;)

I asked because, yes, a couple of present builders do their own, but a couple of the smaller ones didn't and thought i could do one for them

hi there,

you can also put toilet rolls, soap and air freshener in the properties.

and then make a charge to the builder.

Morning all

Here is a thought!! - Take it while you can, i don't have too many these days!!

How about including telephone numbers of local authorities etc
i.e Doctors Surgery and opening times etc
     Local schools and shops

If we also are into domestic cleaning, or know of a fellow colleague who is, include their service as part of a welcome pack to new buyers

What do you think?

hi Tim

Great idea. Your mention of leaving details of domestic cleaning services is something which I had hoped to pursue whilst in my current position as a sub-contractor providing sparkle/build/pre-occ cleans (as we already provide this service to our own clients!) Without wishing to seem dim can you see a logical reason as to why the cleaning firm that we are sub-contracting for will not allow us to do so? (Bearing in mind that they are not offering this service?!)

hi there,

timbob,

i might be worth your while talking to the sales office on site, as ahve you seen the welcome pack A4 folder that most buyers get these days, to tell you the truth i dont know what is in it, but its full.

maggie, timbob,

why not just drop leaflets into all the new houses as they occupy.
on sparkle cleans, we find leaflets from phone, satellite and  alarm companies every week.  some of them must get business, otherwise they wouldnt do it.

So simple. Am on a site on Thursday to check on some Sparkle cleans!! Will buy the site agent a cup of tea and a cake and see what he has. At Linden Homes, they seem to provide the welcome packs.....so i'm sure he will show me the contents.
Will let you all know

Hi all,

The builders wanted this included in the Welcome pack:

Plug-in air fresheners
Toilet blocks in all toilets
Toilet Rolls for each toilet
Sealed for Hygiene stickers to place on the toilets after final clean
All the various manuals put together in a pack for the purchaser

And we are going to leave our business card in this pack as suggested pinned to a small leaflet.....

hi there,

timbob,

i hope that you are charging well for these finishing touches,

i would put them in the morning of the completion, as otherwise they will go walk about.

ball park i would say £40 to £50 per plot,

interesting we have looked at hygenie seals, low tack tape is probably the best. Persimmon want a cellophane seal,, we are still looking at that unkless you have any info please.

Hi Martin,
Was thinking of looking at a low tack vinyl or plastic to place around the top of the toilet, then with a heat source, i.e. a hair-dryer, it will slightly melt the product into place wrapping around the shape of the toilet seat etc,  and will have to be cut to remove buy the purchaser.
I did think of tape, but the builders will just remove it an stick back after use.......
I know a sign fitting company, and may ask to try it on a toilet at our Office to see if the plan works!!!
You come up with anything yet?

hi there,

tim,

ive found a couple of hotel supplies companies that i plan to ring this week, that do the bands that go round both parts of the seat and cover.

we would put them on at the sparkle stage.

i have had the low tack tape, could combine the paper band with a tape over the top, therefore there is only adhesion to the actual toilet porcelain.  and will lift easily enough.

if i had my way i would clean the plot then bolt the doors, cause those builders just dont care you know

Hi Fastclean

Not a bad idea, although not suitable for my line of work.....maybe I could get my company logo on the toilet paper advertising what services we can provide?!?!?

Just a thought!
