I find that each time I put my pole back in the vehicle it helps if I neatly coil the hose (starting from the pole base end) into my left hand. This tends to keep the pole hose free of kinks for the next use.  It also gives an opportunity, if you wear gloves, to wipe all of the grit and sand off of the pole hose so that it doesn't get dragged up the inside of the pole the next time you use it.

Put it in boiling water is step 1,empty the bowl with pole hose still in bowl, coil hose up how you want it when it`s still warm and leave to cool or place in cold water and that`s it.In the winter you`ll need to do this say 1 every month to straighten the hose out but on the whole it does the trick.
