I need to know what size 'O' ring clip to order for my 8mm minibore hoze and can you tell what will be the ideal size for the pole hose,5mm or 8mm?

Get the ones that reduce to the size of the bore m8.
That way you will get a tight fit.
And then measure the external diameter and make that the max size as they reduce down.
I use 8mm-6mm for my 6mm microbore because the OD is 8mm and ID 6mm

I would use Inner Ear 'O' Clip 12.4-14.4mm for minibore hose and I would use 8mm (od) hose for my pole and I would use either an Inner Ring 'O' Clip 7.5-9.5mm or Inner Ring 'O' Clip 9.5-10.4mm to fix the fittings on, depending on the width of the push in barb.  Plastic fittings often have a slightly wider barb than their metal counterparts and would need the slightly larger size to fit properly.
