« on: June 04, 2008, 08:25:30 pm »
Hi all.

Im looking to expand my window cleaning round again after taking on another lad.

Does anybody know any good canvassing techniques?

Many thanks.

I dropped 3000 leaflets about 5 to 6 weeks ago and got about 10 calls, so over the last week ive started canvassing the areas ive leaflet dropped and have got 30 new customers out of about 400 houses i knocked on and 3/4 of them where out as been starting in the morning so now going to do new streets in the morning/afternoon and return to streets id done previously in the evening to knock on the doors that where out.

When i canvass i say do you have a window cleaner, if yes then i dont give a price even if they ask, if they say they havent got one i sell myself, if no one canvassed there would never of been any work in the 1st place.

ive never canvassed before, though i havent needed much work really since i dont have any major bills or anything, so im not like your enterprises earning several 3 figures per day though i was wondering whether i could canvass and work £300 by sunday, without working sunday, so friday and sat two days.
Can i get that much work and do it in two days?
& what type of job should i aim for?
Recently i have been doing gutter & soffit jobs which take about 4-5 hours at £80, though these are harder to pick up. I might try focusing on loads of bungalows. What do you reckon. Lets say it would be handy earning that much before sunday!
