A lot of people advise against it but from the posts I've read about vans and tank sizes I think quite a few are overweight without realising it.

I have 900 payload van with a 600l tank, took it to a weighbridge full and I was right on the limit. To be safe we should all get checked on a public weighbridge.
Ignorance is seen as no excuse for breaking the law.

Trust you to introduce an air of reality Foxman,

This forum can be a bit judgemental at times.

Overloaded vans dont brake as they should... why not think of that the next time your kids are playing in the street.  Save a few quid and throw safety and common sense out the window? Window cleaners have a reputation for being thick probably due to stupid posts like this and the people that think running overloaded is Ok.  :-[

I have a HGV 1 and I know that overloading is treated very very  seriously, no way £30 and 3 points.

Mr Turley, if you posed a real question then you are a real plonk, hand cuff yourself and go straight to jail before i take you there myself.

What a plank

Theres no such thing as a stupid question! But your post + spelling is the most stupid that I have ever seen on this forum!!!!  >:(

armadillo....

that was a bit harsh don't you think, considering i've said twice that i'm not gonna do it?

that said, the bit about taking myself to jail was funny.

it was just an idea that popped into my head and I posted the question before i'd even thought about it too much.

i've advertised with the yellow pages for the first time this year (nice 45mm ad) and if I get a good response, especially on commercials i will struggle with my 525 litres.

I've had a much better idea now though...

I have an onboard merlin for topping up at good psi houses. if I do get to a point where i'm struggng for water, even with my merlin, I could just get another merlin, or a 4040 or similar as well/instead of for super-fast production  while I work.

much cheaper than getting a new, bigger van

thanks to all for your comments  :)
