sorry, i see what you mean now. It's pretty good i think but can be bettered with a van mount carrying lots more water.
I was just trying to emphasise the point that using a small van and carrying something like 250 litres of water won't give you many hours work per day if you run your pole directly from a pump. Although a trolley where you can really turn your water down and watch your consumption, will allow you to earn as much or more as if you have a van mount with the same size tank.
I know ian struggled with the trolley and wasn't getting at him cos i went from a trolley to van mount and he went the other way. Which is much more difficult if you don't have others things set up to get the best out of a trolley.

Dean young man

I have been in WC for over 20 years, and couldn't give a monkeys how you clean windows, if you wont to fall on your head! then that's up to you

I dont know my head from my a s s!

I have put a lot back into this industry and many on here that know me will say that, I have had meetings with national cleaning companies (business) been a co founder of a trade association, dealt with the HSE, & Architects and also help many WC across the country & local by phone calls and visits

You are young for WC but in time the penny will drop that your not invincible! hopefully that wont be to late

So yes I am very helping when it comes to WC and would be happy to give you good advice, which is why we come on this forum

ok ok i shall take your advise on board i always do. i am the 1st to admit i know very little about running a business. after it only been one year. but i'm an exseptional w/c and great leader so i'm hoping once the business element comes in to place the world is my oyster so to speak.lol

i have/had a very low oppinion of wfp coz when i used to use it it made me feel lazy and i was never happy with the finnish. but i'm begining to relise who gives a ..... weather the windows are perfict aslong as enough customas are happy with it that i'm earning enough. since ive been going it alone i very rearly do ladder work past 2nd story anyway. i'm a bit unsure as to how much an indervidual is likely to earn per day wfp though as no one is willing to tell me.
i'm worried i'm earning to much trad to make that much of a diffrence.

one main reason i want to go wfp is when the time comes i need to take some one on i dont want the responsability of them working off ladders as i know what i'm caperbale of but some one else?????

Well local WC I speak with (pricing is a area thing) 25 to 30 pounds a hour is the normal rate, if you price you work as trad then when you come to chage to WFP then your hourly rate will go up becouse you will be faster but you will have to get past the 1st and 2nd cleans which will be slower than trad but not allways the case if you have cleaned all your frames before hand and not used washing up liq

Using a WFP with take time, many say the first year is the hardest! but many on here will also tell you, it will be the best business decision you make once you have gone WFP

Dean, first off! if your prices are low! then I would put them up, customers are loyal, if you go WFP then your hourly rate will indeed increase, but you will have to change your round to be more WFP friendly, we use 100m of micro bore hose and this gets around any house or big commercial jobs, when you do change over to WFP you open your self up to a lot more work that ladders just cant do, and most of the commercial site in dorset just dont wont Health & Safety issue and if it can be done a safer way then that is what will happen

i spoke with me dad last friday and he tells me more and more cliants are asking for the pole now. it used to be '' we dont want that its rubish, dont clean them,'' but now its ''i'm gonna have to get you to pole them form now on as the h&s officer says the risk assements are too much of a headache.''

it used to only be the M.O.D that inssesed on it.

Does your dad own four corner!

YES the WAHR has indeed changed things on a lot of comercial sites, it now makes them responsible for contractors on site and as WFP makes you fully complent, thats what they will go with

Glad to see you have keep a open mind about WFP local for many years there wasnt any around, it was just me and Aqua Pole, how times have changed everyone is getting one now days

hi guys

i've been w/c for 5 years, wfp for 3.

I started off with a trolley and within 2 weeks I ditched it for a van mount. it was just too much messing about with barrels.

when I switched to wfp I nearly packed it in 3 times in the first 6 months, and I earned less money for 2-3 months!

but now i'm so glad I stuck at it as it's safer, better and quicker imo.

this is just my opinion, each to their own.
