ALWAYS agree terms before starting, and you can only do that if you go to see the job first.

Silver rule:

Why bother with these jobs, which as we all know are unpredictable and usually twice as hard as our regular work? Concentrate on building a full round of good work, and leave these 'hassle' jobs to someone else.
