Complete Stain Remover Kits
« on: January 08, 2005, 04:40:01 pm »
Over the past few years I've gathered up many stains removers mostly Prochem.  However I never found an effective red dye remover, tea remover and rust remover from their range.

So I'm thinking of investing in a complete kit with all the specialist chemicals in a nice self contained box.  Chemspec and Alltec do it but I've little experience of the products from each of these two companies.

Anyone any favourites?

thanks
Mark

PS. what do you carry your spottings chemicals in when in the customers home.  At the minute I use a bucket which doubles as a water carrying bucket for the portable.  Not the most professional looking.

Another worth considering is solutions spotting box, It looks the bussines and needless to say top quality products.
Had a job last week in the house/mansion of one of Newmarkets top trainers, I had complete success removing 2 large red wine stains from a light green  wool carpet using nothing but Solutions number 3 and extraction, great Stuff ;D

Mark,

All the major manufacturers will have products in their ranges which vary in effectiveness with their competitors alternatives.  I therefore find that a 'pick & mix' approach is best.

My range of spotters is far too large to put into one container and still expect to be able to carry it, so I have a plastic caddie which is stocked from the van shelves and cabinets with the requirements for the individual task.

For tea & coffee and red dyes, try Chemspec RX Tea/coffee Remover and RX Juice & Dye Remover. They come in 500ml bottles so do not cost a fortune to try.

For rust removers I find little difference between the brands for the removal of rust, but stock both Prochem and Chemspec products for different reasons. My all-time favourite rust remover was Majica but that product is near-impossible to source these past few years since the Prochem re-badged supply was withdrawn. Its' downside was very limited shelf-life.

Solutions Carpet Box is an outstanding package. Box is very smart and will allow me to stand on (13 Stone). Interiors dividers can be moved to allow storage of your choice........my choices all come from Solutions anyway. 8)
Looks good with Name and Number on the sides, attracts requests for business cards more than my van  ::)

I’m a bit like John, pick and mix on spotters, have yet to buy one from QVC but very tempted, but would need to take lap-top in and show customer the video.

I also use a bucket at the moment, they also can knock over!

I have seen the solution box very and I mean very impressed with the construction of it, also if you have more one than one box they clip together.

John where did you get your plastic caddie from have been on the look out for one, now you got the digi can you e-mail me a picture.
