« on: April 11, 2008, 05:47:27 pm »
Thought I'd get your attention.

I'm scrapping my old car and had a brainwave.

Could I use the old car battery to power the wfp pump ?

Not connected to van , recharged at night with powerpack ?

Will it last a full day !?

Or not like leisure battery !???????

I did the same, I use the battery no trouble at all and it lasts way over a day having two stops alot of hassle and saves money in the long run

As far as I know it won't last long, car batteries are for maximum cranking power, and relatively low deep cycles. It will work, but I'm not sure if it's the best solution.

I have a 2 year guarantee on the car battery I have, if it last that long thats fine with me, if not I get a new one  ;)

Depends on the battery AH (Amp Hrs), the ampage of your pump and how long you use your pump for as to wether it would last all day...

Thee either works a short day or thee pump don't tek a lot of amps

Mine takes 10 amps and I have a 120 amp leisure battery, should last about 12 hrs but only lasts about 8
