Leasing a Car?
« on: April 11, 2008, 05:33:36 pm »

Evening Gents,

Have been seriously thinking about leasing a new car mainly for business use and to offset as an expense.

I presume I can claim 50% of the car and 100% of the maintenance/service deal. Is this right?

if you got a van you could claim 100% of all the payments and all the vat.
With a car you could claim 50% of the payments & only 50% of the vat, unless you could prove that you use it ENTIRELY for working purposes. (i think thats right)

Hi AJ,

Thanks for your reply, thats what I thought.

It is going to be almost entirely for business, were would I stand then. Does that mean if I cant prove 100% business use I can only claim 50%?
