Regarding TDS reading my tap water is 087 is this high or low ? do i need a RO or DI vessel thing ? sorry if i sound a bit thick to you guys, got a trolley now so just need a pole/brush and the pure water sorted. hope to be up and running soon and get confident with the whole thing. thanks in advance.

Their was a poll on here a while ago about at what tds level people used di/ro
it was generally that anything below 100ppm was di any above it was ro as you probably wont be using loads of water then i would reccommend di if water usage was high then an ro would then start to be cheaper
Hope that helps a little
Oh and good luck with the changeover to wfp

Nationally, a TDS of 87 is considered low.  It's almost the same TDS that we work on down here in Cornwall.  Even with a TDS of 87, I would still recommend an RO System to purify your water.  This will bring your TDS down to about 001-003 (depending on RO used).  A small resin canister as a final polish will bring you to the ideal 000.  The comparitive costs for running a 1 man system on a full time basis using an RO System will be about 1/4 of that for running a resin bead system.

A cheap RO System (RO-Man 200 gpd) does not cost much more than a sack of resin and a decent resin bead pressure vessel.  Of course, if you don't have the space for a storage tank and an RO System, then a DI resin system does offer an easy alternative.
