I have not cleaned a domestic carpet covered in oily residue like that for a long time. I can however remember the last one, i presprayed and raked, extracted, presprayed and raked, extracted then showed the customer the same sub standard results that Jason initially had. I then tried something new (with customers consent), i added some PC Citrus Gel to some warm water in a trigger sprayer, gave it a good shake then sprayed the carpet raked it in then extracted.

. The results where FANTASTIC (as are Jasons above). I have done this since on office carpets in factories that would not come clean with normal presprays with the same results. Each time i have made sure of complete rinse with Acid Rinse then to be on safe side given the carpets a fine mist of Acid Rinse.
Moving away from this topic slightly, next week i have a Newsagent shop carpet to clean. The shop owner has just had the shop done out really nice. I have advised that he goes straight for replacement but wants to see if the carpet will clean to a high standard instead of going for new. It has low profile poly prop carpet tiles that are about 8 years old. These tiles have never been cleaned before so are full of the outside world and gum. The intended cleaning process will be;
Vac carpet, Rake carpet, vac carpet. I will do this until no more comes out via the vacuum.
Prespray with PC Power Burst and aggitate allowing 10 mins of dwell time.
Extract with Truckmount.
Spot treatment including the use of HM OJ on the gum.
Prespray with PC Power Burst, soak PC bonnet pads in acid rinse, wring them out then bonnet the carpet.
What would you guys do?
There is 80sqm and charging £280.00.
Richie.
