Do I need to be concerned
« on: December 17, 2004, 10:30:14 am »
Hi all

I have a couple of jobs coming up that I would like to ask some advice.

First - a carpet that I haven't seen yet, baby has been sick and there is a smell.  Nothing unusual with this if I was still using Prochem products but I have just switched to microsplitters.  Do I need to apply a deodoriser and anti-bac to neutralise the smell etc or does microsplitters take care of this?  Got to do this Saturday.

Secondly - I've only recently started taken on furnishing, had Prochem training etc but just want to check, a sofa from Marks & Spencers, 83% polyester, 16% cotton (don't know about the other 1%, it doesn't say on the label).  Is there anything to be concerned about when wet cleaning?  Got to do this Monday.

I have a steampro and plan to use microsplitters on both if possible.

Thanks in advance

Chris

Chris,

If you remove the sick you should automatically remove the smell as it is the bacteria living in it which cause the smell.

The suite sounds straightforward subject to a colour bleed test , just go carefully to start and don't overwet . I'm sure you'll be fine.

Comimg back to the baby sick if your not sure why not use Prochem which you are confident with.I use both microsplitters and detergents depending on the job.

Cheers,

Doug
