Who needs competitors
« on: March 15, 2008, 11:46:33 am »
Heard wife on phone this morning

"Steve is a little more expensive than others but he does the job right but if you just want cheap and cheerful clean he is not for you.Check with the one who quoted you £10 to make sure he will remove stains for that price because they normally add extra for doing this plus they may leave your carpet wet for a couple of days.Anyway he has a minimum charge of £43 leave your number and he'll ring you back"

She wonders why I don't like her answering the phone ::)

You get this in any buisness, im a tiler i get it all the time even if say a bathroom tile £450 if somebody else quotes £445 they get it, so when you go and quote you have to convince them you are the best tradesman in the world..Its a hard life

i like competitors, it keeps you on your toes, if they get the job cause of the price, then you probably dont want that sort of customer anyway

hi there

competitors are great, they remind you of the level of service that you deliver.

some people get obsessed with competition, some obsession is unhealthy,

if you stay focussed on your business, then you succeed, if you take your eye off the ball then it starts to get complicated

regards
