no worries, just make sure you get the right grade, soak the window well, dip the wool in your bucket and scrub lightly,i found it quicker than scraping and does not scratch glass-wish i had known this years ago

The correct Grade is 0000 its the finest you can get, anything higher and you run the risk of scratches.

Grade 0000 to grade 00 is about your limit. Pity we don't have brass wool over here like the States, non rusting wool would ensure no rusting.

Not any more if I can help it.  ;D and only for the reason, that I have just finished a large amount of builders cleans and I never want to see another one again. ;D
wire wool is excellent stuff and I used it during all the last builders cleans, people think your crazy when you get wire wool out, but then again, they think I'm crazy when I get out wet and dry sandpaper to restore there upvc, that works a treat as well. ;)

Well Jerry I've done hundreds of builders cleans and I have yet to meet a builder who doesnt create a mess on the windows and frames.

The trouble is there all on a price and work like the clappers, so why should they care if they make a mess, they know the cleaners move in after.

Stay away from builders cleans.
If you charge enough they can be a great earner, but theres a lot more to worry about these days with tempered glass and self cleaning glass, and tinted glass, Its not for the faint of heart
Wire wool is great for getting oxidation off old glass as well
