Hail to the new prince

I have just noticed that Doug has joined Ian as moderator and that the long-term incumbent has quiety slipped out the back door.

I am sure that I am not alone in wishing the new boys a warm welcome, nor in thanking young Derek for the time, wisdom and knowledge he has brought to the forum since its' inception.

Thanks John !

I was hoping to make a quiet entrance ;)

Derek is a top man and I'm sure he will continue to add the benefit of his knowledge.

Hi everyone

Thanks for not giving me too hard a time over the last months... with the exception of jasonb it was a relatively painless experience

I was finding it taking far more of my time to check out every post on a daily basis... the main problem being the sites obvious success meant that checking once a day was simply not enough

I am sure that Ian and Doug will do a great job.. I wish them every success

I would like to thank Dereck someone I regard as a Legend, as I personally have learnt a lot from him.

Sometimes  I got a bit confused but clarrification was always there.

I would also like to welcome who I think is very much a down to earth practical carpet cleaner.

I can only hope that you all continue to support the Forumn.

Ps Dereck could you tell me where the moderators delete key is please?

Regards

Ian

Thankfully I didn't have to use it often... you will find that you can modify someone elses posts and delete them too from the same area.... have a look at the various controls...if you delete one of my posts whilst playing around.... I will understand

Chris

I am not moving on anywhere ...'fraid you will still have to put up with me as an ordinary punter...just like you  ;D

I would like to add my welcome too. Welcome Doug. If I missed out earlier (combination of old age and the "C" word) welcome too to Ian.

And my thanks too to that living leg end Derek, or as he's known in some circles "Yoda" We all know only too well that he will not be fading away from this and other forums, but merely be able to have a more relaxed approach to his "daily read" before contributing his threepunce worth ;)

Safe and happy moderating :)

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your kind comments , I hope you don't nickname me 'Darth'.

I think some of the current threads are excellent and of great benefit to cc's new and old.

I would like to see new posters and would only consider deleting if abuse or swearing etc were present, although I suppose I had better practice in case jb makes an xmas appearance ;)

It's good to have differing views sometimes.

Cheers,

Doug

Hi Guys

I would very much like to thank Derek for the time and effort he's put in to the site over the past 12 months.
It's a shame that occassionally we get situations that need moderating at all but I guess that as we get more members there's a greater chance that one or two will have a 'difference of opinion' which needs attention.

One of the benefits of this new forum software is the 'report this post to a moderator' function. If anyone does find anything at all offensive please feel free to use this facility.

Hopefully, Ian and Doug won't actually have anything do but we do appreciate them being there.

Regards
