Now I know why I switched to WFP
« on: January 31, 2008, 10:34:36 am »
I have been cleaning a house with the pole for about 6 months but the results haven't been good due to leaking seals and lots of road dirt and access issues.

So I deceided to go back to the ladder and do them trad.

It took me twice the time to clean them and twice the time to pack away and fix ladders back on the roof!

Man WFP is great!!!!

Yes. On this job I was happy with the result trad.

Im not knocking trad at all, as it will ALWAYS have a place. But there are some jobs like the one above that only trad will work.

I wouldn't like to go back and do all my jobs trad though.

I am trad and am not planning to change. Interesting comments as I recently gained 2 customers who were having wfp but were not happy with results.

I'm not knocking wfp - it too has it's place, many we know wouldn't go back to trad.

The reality is both probably will always have there respective places - side by side.

I have a problem house with knackered/perished seals and it's always dreadful. Surely once it rains the sme effect will start again even if they were done trad?

i personally think it is laziness on the part of the wfp operators if they are not doing the work upto a good standard. There are some windows and glass that can be a bit of a nightmare with wfp but when that happens all they need to do is run a damp  microfibre over the offending area. Or if it is upstairs re rinse the glass. It's still gotta be quicker for an experienced wfp operator to do this than to clean all traditionally.
These people miss the point of being a window cleaner. It is to leave clean windows, not to cut the working time in half or whatever.

I can assure you I know what im doing with the pole!!!

Every other window on my round comes up perfect.

Even when these windows are closed tight and on some of them the seals are ok water still leakes into the inside.

So because of this no matter how good you are with the pole NO one could clean these perfectly with wfp

P.S. S.Ball. I have the hang of it now ;) Trust me. 18 months in total with wfp
