one thing i really hate is when people cancel, i know i shouldn't take it to heart but i do, the reason is because i make sure that i do a proper job every time and that way no reason to complain. now i undeerstand when someone cancels and says it's because they have financial probs, but how do you stop customers who you've only cleaned 2 or 3 times?

when i canvass i make sure that they know i clean every 4 weeks and that if they want a one off i'm not interested.

yeh it is annoying!

i know everyone says dont take it to heart but you do

i had a lady the other day well a while ago, and she said someone had use the pole system on her windows and she said she thought it didnt work

so i was like, let me have a go and see how we go. and these windows didnt sheet at all, and to be fair werent the best, so i did it 3 times and she rang up and cancelled, which i though was fair enough because the windows werent my usual standard

so ive never done this before, ii walked off and i was like, this is still money, so i went back and said "would you like me to do it the old way" ohhh id love that.

so did them, then this weekend she cancelled, i just think she doesnt have the money...and thats that

what gets to me is i get new customers and i'm not charging anymore for first clean and i'm cleaning up all the frames as well, so they are looking really good after i've done them.

then a couple of cleans later they say, we don't want it anymore.

this is what really p155es me off >:(

ALWAYS charge more for 1st cleans.

1: It will cover the extra time

2: You will always get some who cancel quickly

3: If the don't like paying extra for 1st cleans then they are the most likely to use you for a one-off

I dunno why people take on a WC if they are only gonna cancel 3 cleans later.  My prices are reasonable, my work is very good and I am polite, smart and reliable.

Maybe they just want them spruced up.

But yeah, I tend to take it to heart as this is my business and I pride myself on being good at it.  If someone cancells it is almost like they are saying imj not good at my job...

Maybe charge more for the first cleans then?  I usually do.

Its the short attention span syndrome. They are what I call air heads.

It works like this.

Mrs Brown's windows are filthy but she hasn't done anything about it like ask a neighbour to send her window cleaner over next time he comes or stop a window cleaner in the street. Then one day you turn up on her doorstep.

"Hello, would you like your windows cleaned?"

"Oh, yes I do need a window cleaner"

So you clean her windows and they look beautiful. She happily hands over the money.

A month or six weeks later you turn up to do them again. This time the windows hardly look any different after you have finished because they were still pretty good from the first time. She hands the money over but it seems like a lot .

By the third time you come it seems like a complete waste of good money paying to have windows cleaned when they aren't even dirty.

So she cancels
