Am I expecting too much? ....4 months and rain
« on: January 13, 2008, 01:49:46 pm »
I cleaned a place the other day and it started lashing down but we carried on, it hasn't been cleaned for 4 months.
I decided to go back yesterday to see the results....MISTAKE!
I take pride in the job I do, but it was so bad I just left.  I don't know what to do, start again or what?

It looked like we'd spread the dirt around and left it all greasy too, the windows looked worse than when we started - terrible runs from the top frames too (which we clean) spots all over.

Is it too long?
Is it the rain?
Is it the new bentley brush I'm not used to?
Is it the type of glass?

What do you think?

Could be any one of a thousand reasons.  Do it again and see how it comes up.

One of the main problems with cleaning in heavy rain is that you tend to rush to get the job done... It's a subconcious thing.

So maybe you just didn't spend enough time on each window, scrubbing frames and rinsing etc..?

I got caught the first time i used a Bentley - they don't have a huge amount of scrubbing power. Sounds like they were so bad that it should have been treated as a first clean with extra time spent on frames etc? Mind you with that weather it's not suprising.

Pj

I have got a job like that , the trouble was the new tarmacing in the road had left a thin film on the windows which just looked liked it had been stirred about when i washed them.

I am going to use tfr next time and let them soak a bit before i wfp them.

4 months isnt too long
its not the brush
or the rain , i

it is some kind of grease i expect.

I expect John Travolta walked past.

Thanks, confirms my thoughts really.

1) We did rush a bit, got soaked.

2) Probably should have spent more time on the frames etc, like a first clean.

3) I think I'm going to try TFR next time.  Something greasy has been going on.  Spot on Dave, they have just put the top coat on the road!

4) My hair is getting a bit long and I do dance a bit like John Travolta.
