Vomit on Hotel Room Carp.et
« on: January 11, 2008, 09:19:00 am »
Hi,

Did a job yesterday for a hotel. Vomit had been cleaned from the carpet by the hotel.  I Presprayed with Prochem Sanifresh, agitated, dwell time 10 min, extracted with clean hot water.  Smell still exists im told today.  The vomit had only happened the night before so it was not long there

Any other solutions out there for Vomit

Thanks

John

I have had total success with vomit odour by using Solubac from Solutions.

Hi

There may still be some lurking around.

Had the same a while back, did the job, got a call next day, still there?

Went back and lifted the bed, lo & behold a little bit was right under the bed!

How it got there I will never know, after that it was fine.

I always use clensan. Spray down plenty and leave to dwell for a good 20 mins even though instructions say otherwise and it works every time.

Hi Guys

Like Pete I use Clensan, did one the other day.

I Prespray first , then clean with Crystal Green and Cleansan solution in machine.

Cheers

Hi Doug

Only realised last night what you meant with the Kent stuff. Got the Mrs to reply to that email from Tenterden so probably baffled customer as she was looking at a website with my name on it. Got it now though. Do you think it might be better to leave address off as I am happy to travel and don't want potential custys to think "he's a bit far away".

Pete

How's the Envirodri on this sort of spillage - I'm still looking into buying one while the January offers on ?

Hi Justin

I'm not sure it's the machine that is relevant. I have one and the micro sponges do smell nice (use them on my carpets only) but Envirodry are a bit cagey on what they are made up of so not sure if they would tackle smell. Be interesting to see what Obey one has to say on it though.

I think solubac is the best product solutions do. Never had any success with any of the prochem deodorisers.

Hi pete

I used my enviroDri on the vomit, pre sprayed first, dwelled, sponges, brushed in, waited vacced up and left.

It was only because the vomit had somehow migrated under the bed (probably trying escape extinction ;)) That I had to re visit, which is why i suspected the same this time with Johns problem.

In over 4 years now I have come across everything I can think of and only had one carpet I could not clean. This was one where a 2 year old had spilled numerous coke, juice, wee, water and god knows what else on it over the period of her 2 years and it was beyond redemption.

I really hope you go for the Envirodri, it will be a good investment for you.
