worst job yet
« on: December 19, 2007, 05:25:29 pm »
Done my worst job yet today. Been CC just under a year and turned up to a house that should be pulled down. Swept the floor with my rubber brush to collect a carrier bag of hair, then the vaccuming revealed all the human crap. First time I have boked on the job.
Felt like legging it but soldiered on.  >:(

It was the living room and 2 bedrooms. He was well chuffed and hopefully wont be as bad the next time. Shouldnt really complain, his money is as good as any one else's.

I do wonder how I would react if I came up against some fresh liquid poo.

I think I would stay professional, but I may say no ******** way and walk.

It was a old woman, it was by the side of the bed.it wasnt a mr whippy but it had been trampled in.  the worst was when i pre sprayed the room. seemed to increase the smell.
I could have legged it but  still trying to increasing my business. would have quoted alot higher if i went to the flat to quote.
putting it down to experience.

Seen some real " stinkers " over the years, as we do environmental cleans for Social Services and changeovers for a Christian Action charity, who run a housing complex, for, mainly alcoholics.

If I feel the carpets, or furniture are too far gone, I advise the managment and they get replaced.

The main problem with this work, is the machines, hoses, tools all need to be cleaned after each job an clothing washed or dumped.

Over 5 years doing this job and on 2 occassions I have come home said hello (no kiss no further chat) cloths into the washing machine and headed straight into the shower.
It's not nice it's not pleasant but now and again it's part of the job.

This is just a sample of a full house clean we did earlier this year, through social services, and the chap was still living in the house.

Jesus h ,i have done a few bad ones one lady with a problem cat that kept ping on the carpets, took ages to get the smell from my hoses buckets and tank on the machine, another one  i did where i used the pic on my website it was that bad ,don`t think they had a hoover .
Oh and some of the commercial jobs i have done carpet had been down for over 7 years over 70 members of staff 7 days a week ,was not happy with the end result myself i threw everything i had at it but still looked dirty when i had done.
did a big builders supplier a few weeks back , carpet tiles been down for years lorry drivers with muddy boots from building sites walking all over it while i was cleaning.£350 for 4 hours work though which was ok...
Never seen anything as bad as the pics though looks more like a toilet at a garage very very grim  >:(
