Just keep the pump out of the cold that`s what will freeze up on you,if you have a newish van it would freeze to that extent inside.

All fuel heaters give off carbon monoxide and dioxide. The heater I want is advertised as giving off carbon dioxide as a selling point which is dangerouse in very high concentrations, this burner burns only 17g of fuel an hour, thats not much gas and not all of that will be carbon dioxide, there is nothing to worry about, Luke

Ive seen the trees where you live, cut a hole in the roof and install a logburner. Then in the morning lift it out and carry it in for your Mum  ;D

A greenhouse heater will work fine !

12v ceramic car heaters are a waste of time

you might aswell light a candle to heat up the van
