I clean her wheelie bins at Balmoral after each visit by a member of the royal family. I need to carry out this service for a total of five years before I can apply for royal appointment.

Len,

They don't have employees - all their carpet cleaners are sub contract who are paid a percentage of the job. They buy there own vans and equipment and I think they get 35% of the job value. This in my view is very shortsighted as it leads to jobs being rushed and lots of "private work being arranged". Mind you it has been excellent for my business as I work the same territory.

Nigel

I’m only repeating what he said.

It sounds like they are ½ price leaflet type they also do this, % of job.  I wonder if the Queens knows this. :o :o

Re private work employees also do this. :(

Any one got there phone number I would not mind becoming a subby for them, but I would want the royal warrant. ;D ;D

Pilgrim Payne of Latimer rd London W10 are the royal warrent Holders, though in practice work is allocated by whoever is dealing with a particular job and they are not required to use the warrent holder.

Over the years I have done quite a bit of work(fitting not cleaning) for the royal household, but not so much in recent years as my contact there retired and I supose the new man has His own prefered contractor.

The first job I did was for Her royal Highness The Princess Margret, Countess of Snowden (decesed)

I remember waiting for the check to come with great excitment to see who had signed it( Iwas thinking of hanging it on the wall) In fact it was signed by the Comptroller( thats right with a p) of the Queens household.

So I banked it

I posted this because I thought my previous post had gone missing, but it seems there are two similar threads running.

Sorry to repeat myself
